Public Affairs Trainee

Who we are

RPP is a public affairs consultancy focused on policy creation, development and communication. RPP Group was established as Rohde Public Policy in 2002 with the goal of delivering new conceptual services in the area of public policy and has grown to be one of the most respected and well-established independent policy service providers. Our topical focus and expertise lie in healthcareresearch and innovationsocial policy, and related trade and market access issues. As an intern with RPP Group, you will work in a dynamic atmosphere and deal with a variety of subjects relating to health, the healthcare system, innovation, energy, social affairs, employment, sustainable development and industrial issues.

As part of a team on a human scale, you will play a full part in the firm's activities and will be fully integrated into the project management teams. You will need to show initiative and be a team player. You will also be required to work in English with colleagues in other offices.

An interest in the sector, politics and interest representation is a prerequisite. Initial experience in these areas would be a plus.

Activities and tasks shall include:

  • Carrying out daily monitoring and various research tasks on political developments in France and possibly in Europe, particularly in the above-mentioned sectors.
  • Attending and reporting on events, colloquia and conferences.
  • Analysing and circulating information to team members on subjects relevant to current or developing projects.
  • Carrying out media and social network monitoring, and participating in social network engagement or press relations for certain clients.
  • Supporting the development of project-related documents (in coordination with our visual and digital team).
  • Actively participate in the organisation of meetings and events.

The candidate should fulfill at least one of the following criteria:

  • Good understanding of the political world and the public policy development process in France and Europe.
  • Rigour, autonomy, responsibility and proactivity.
  • Excellent organisational skills and professionalism in managing tasks.
  • Ability to adapt to the workload according to priorities and to be involved in several subjects at the same time.
  • Ability to work well in a team and to interact with a variety of people (both internal and external).
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • Experience and/or fluency in managing social networks or press relations preferred.
  • Good command of the Office pack (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • 5 years' higher education - Student in political science, law, economics or public health, with a specialization in public affairs (end-of-study internship).
  • Initial experience in a professional environment (consultancy, company, association, parliament or other institution) or in an election campaign would be appreciated.
  • You'll be working on meaningful projects with added social value.
